The central role of water—the lifeblood of Zion—is celebrated in an elegant water fountain, centered within the exhibition. Local octogenarian, J.L. Crawford, who was born and raised in the canyon, introduces the human story. His video orientation appears to be generated by the Park’s original 1930s glass mount slide projector.
Paiute and Hopi artifacts mingle with objects from the Mormon pioneers and CCC workers, in a storyline organized by natural resource, rather than chronology.
