The Trail of Tears
Designed and produced in just one year, this 2,000 SF exhibit tells the story of the Trail of Tears through first-hand accounts of Cherokee survivors, with a design priority given to Universal Design techniques.

The design incorporated sophisticated audiovisual effects, including scrim projection, lifecast figures within a sound and light show, and a Pepper’s Ghost effect, to bring past events to “life.” Every aspect of the design met (and usually exceeded) Smithsonian Accessibility Guidelines.
The Henley Company guided the project from concept through installation.
